Microphones Used:

  • CM414: Advanced Audio CM414 (C414 clone)

  • R101: Royer R101

IR Options:

  • N (Normal) - These IR’s seek to capture the natural acoustic sound of the respective guitar without signal processing.

  • S (Smooth) - These IR’s seek to capture the natural acoustic sound of the respective guitar with dynamics processing that smooths out attack and tames high-end presence generated in many pickup configurations.

  • D (Deluxe) - These IR’s seek to capture the natural acoustic sound of the respective guitar with dynamics processing and subtle room reverb applied to add ‘space’ and enhance the sound.

Selah Sounds Acoustic Impulse Responses offer a solution to the performing or recording guitarist who desires to present the unique, natural sound of their Acoustic guitar with the convenience of an on-board pickup and preamp. Our Acoustic IR’s enhance the direct sound of an Acoustic guitar, approximating the tone gained by capturing with a microphone, which remains the ultimate ideal in acoustic guitar recording but has the potential to be inconsistent and restrictive in a live setting. Take back the natural sound of your acoustic guitar with Selah Sounds Acoustic IR’s!

  • While best results will be achieved by using an Acoustic IR captured with a similar guitar and pickup configuration to your own, different IR’s can yield unique results - feel free to experiment to find what sounds best to you!

  • IR’s have been provided in Industry Standard Sample Rates and in both 500ms and 200ms versions. 500ms IR’s will achieve the best results but use higher processing power - to maximize DSP on your device, try using 200ms IR’s as needed.

  • High-Pass & Low-Pass Filters: it is generally agreed upon that using HP and LP Filters are essential to achieving a balanced sound with your instrument - try raising the HP filter to between 80Hz and 180Hz to taste.

**In hardware IR loading devices with a 200ms limit differences in options will be subtle due to truncated IR lengths. However, in Digital Audio Workstations full effect will be more pronounced.
