Our first venture into blended-profile territory. Though we’ve had the desire to this for months, It took a while for us to get our hands on the amps that we felt would go best together. This pack was, by far, the most labor-intensive pack that we’ve done to date and we are extremely proud of the results. A decision was made that the Fender amps would be blended in to compliment and not overpower the complexity of the Matched amps. This translates to the player experiencing, roughly, a 70:30 ratio of 3D British tone to American punch, low-end and attack.
This pack provides only the best sounds and settings from two esteemed amplifiers from a manufacturer who is hard to beat. They are based in California and are known for their ability to take AC30-style circuits and make them more road-worthy, dynamic and.. just.. better. One might even go so far as to describe this manufacturer as “match-less.”
Note: All profiles marked with a “K” have been tastefully boosted with an Analogman King of Tone overdrive pedal. While we tried all amp gain stages and various pedal settings together, we only included the absolute best combinations. "A" points to the 12AX7-based channel being utilized, while "E" points to the EF86-based channel being used (applicable to HC30 profiles)
Matched 30/15 Description
This is the simple-yet-complex, more powerful, bigger-sounding version of the spitfire circuit. It is pared-down and comes with the ability to run at either 15 or 30 watts. We bypassed the former, naturally. With a 12AX7 in the preamp and a quartet of EL84’s in the power section, this amp and our profiles will serve as a great platform for Jazz, Blues, Country or Rock. We selected a vintage Bassman to pair with this amp to make dual profiles, giving them the name "BSMN 30/15".
Matched HC30 Description
This Class-A beauty is the revered and iconic circuit that put this manufacturer on the map and is the amp of choice for many touring guitarists and studio engineers. It is not as forgiving as an AC30 and opts to be as dynamic as the player is. It is truly 3-dimensional, highly flexible and it consistently produces rich and complex harmonics. The HC30 hosts two channels, with one being 12AX7-based and the other EF86-based. There are four EL84’s in the power amp. Our profiles of this tone monster are a must-have for any guitarist who doesn’t settle for anything but the best. We selected a Twin Reverb to pair with this amp to make dual profiles, giving them the name "TWN HC30".
