This profile pack accurately captures only the best sounds found both channels of the Wizard Modern Classic II, a powerful, expensive, rare and British-inspired 100-Watt EL34 monster.  This Canadian-manufacturer makes hand-made amplifiers for the likes of AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Pretty Reckless, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) and more (check out their extensive artist page).

You can hear a lot of Marshall rock sounds in this amp, but it’s more percussive than compressed.  Gain sounds have great articulation and note separation. The bottom end packs a punch but won’t fart out on the guitarist.

Channel 1 of the MCII can be described as the best Hiwatt cleans you can find, or a Plexi without a Master Volume.  Profiles of this channel are very touch-sensitive and clean up well with the volume knob. Think “warm”, “punchy” and “huge”.

Channel 2 of the MCII is, quite simply, an amazing and soaring lead-channel for the guitarist who values response and dynamics.  Roll off your volume knob and you’re playing Plexi-style cleans, but let’s call it how it is – you’re not going to play profiles of Channel 2 for in a ballad.  You’re going to play them for the powerful Marshall-esque gain that melts faces.
