Simon Jarrett himself sat in on the profiling of the Bastion, a fixed bias class AB two-channel amplifier inspired by the Dumble ODS style circuit.  His knowledge and direction translated to us being able to capture incredible sounds that we never would have found had he not been there. The Bastion is All-American in nature.  The model we profiled is the larger 40W version that employs three 12AX7’s in the preamp, a 12AX7 phase inverter and two 6L6’s in the power amp.  

The profiles included are the result of the best available combinations of channels 1 and 2, the bright switch and eq lift.  Channel 1's warm and articulate cleans are complemented by channel 2's rich and touch-sensitive singing lead tones.

The words “big’, “round”, “thick”, and “fat” would be suitable adjectives to describe the profiles of this amplifier.  Think Larry Carlton, John Mayer, Joe Bonamassa and Keith Urban tone, and you’re on the right track.
